Description

Can you recognize the signs that would make you suspect spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), are you familiar with the recommended diagnostic process, and do you know how to develop individualized care plans for treating your adult patients with SMA? This 30-minute learning activity, featuring an interactive patient case, was developed with a leading expert in the field of SMA, Dr Emma Ciafaloni. It will provide practical guidance on how to create treatment plans that include multidisciplinary care, as well as how to choose and use standardized assessment tools to improve practices in your clinic. Target Audience This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of neurologists, pediatric neurologists, neuromuscular disease specialists, orthopedists, pulmonologists, physical therapists, and nurses involved in the management of patients with SMA.

- Outline and recognize signs of SMA and diagnose accurately
