This article discusses angioedema, a serious side effect of ACE inhibitors. Three articles are reviewed: one on the management of angioedema in the emergency department, one on the use of fresh frozen plasma for the treatment of angioedema, and one on the efficacy of icatibant in angioedema.The article provides an overview on ACEI angioedema. Management of this condition includes anti-allergy medications (e.g,. epinephrine, antihistamines, and corticosteroids), fresh frozen plasma, and icatibant; and intubation and cricothyrotomy.
