Activity Steps

Description

The authors identified a gap in the knowledge of how to prevent pressure ulcers (PrUs) in nursing homes. The goal of their study was to address this gap by comparing the impressions about the context of PrU prevention among nursing leadership and indirect care staff in nursing homes with improving PrU rates against those in facilities where the rates of improvement declined over time. Their analysis detected barriers to sustaining improvement and factors that may lead to greater PrU prevention implementation success.
