After completing this continuing education activity you will be able to:

  1. CME Article 4: HSV Hepatitis in Pregnancy: A Review of the Literature-- Develop a reasonable differential diagnosis for hepatitis in pregnancy, including HSV hepatitis; differentiate these etiologies based on common presentations, physical findings, and laboratory values; value the usage of empiric acyclovir therapy in pregnancy-related hepatitis; and counsel patients on safety measures to protect themselves and their unborn children from infection during pregnancy, including avoidance and vaccination.
  2. CME Article 5: Prevention of Cesarean Delivery Surgical Site Infections-- Evaluate preoperative considerations when preparing for a cesarean delivery; distinguish the recommended antiseptic choices for preoperative cleansing/prepping before cesarean delivery; propose the appropriate use of prophylactic antibiotics for prevention of cesarean delivery SSI; and select the surgical techniques that have been shown to decrease the risk of cesarean delivery SSI.
  3. CME Article 6: Proteomics and Metabolomics in Pregnancy-An Overview-- Describe the various complications of pregnancy and their outcomes; assess current available techniques and modalities involving proteomics and metabolomics; and evaluate and provide a comprehensive review of the use of proteomics and metabolomic techniques in various complications of pregnancy.
