Purpose of Activity

The authors present expert opinion in conjunction with an evidence-based literature review distilled into a 10 step approach to treating pilonidal sinus disease (PSD). Using this approach enables the practitioner to improve outcomes for patients with a diagnosis of PSD. While the gold standard of treatment continues to be surgical intervention, other critical elements of this 10 step approach include early detection as well as patient education regarding self-care in the post-operative period.
